Nightshade #1 Nightshade

Good old werewolves...shifter oh....I love it. Presenting Nightshade #1 Nightshade by Andrea Cremer.

Here is the summary of the book:

She can control her pack, but not her heart ...'I wanted him to kiss me-wished he could smell the desire that I knew was pouring off me. You can't, Calla. This boy isn't the one for you.' Calla Tor has always known her destiny: graduation, marriage and then a life leading her pack. But when she defies her masters' laws to save a human boy, she must choose. Is one boy worth losing everything?

Werewolves are the stuffs of legend. Contorted and shaped from word of mouth to the language of the books since long ago just as witches and wizards and fairies and the such. Nightshade is among those that bring out these mythical monsters like werewolves in their full galore. There is the thrill, there is the pack chases and the hunt...granted these werewolves don't need the pull of the moon to change but this works too.

This is my first time venturing into the Andrea Cremer land and my God I say totally loving it. She has crafted a world that is so like our own yet so different all the same.

Calla is a wonderful and strong yet lithe heroine. She has her whole life planned out before her. Get mated to Ren.....oh my God that is one HOT piece slightly arrogant there though....and head their new formed pack as their parents before them do. A strict rule follower, Calla has never had wanted to love someone knowing the orthodox society she is a part of doesn't work like that....

The testosterone quota gets its fill from Ren and Shay. One is the intended for Calla. A match made by the elders that must be seen through and the latter is as much I dislike, a lusty distraction (don't flame me i'm just stating what i felt). With Shay in the mix secrets and lies are turned in. Earth shattering secrets are revealed about the pack's true history that leads to the greatest discord ever. The young wolves don't know who or what to trust....Their biggest battle for freedom is approaching and no one is safe in the war.

Sorry.....I know my thoughts are bit jumbled up....still reeling from the awesomeness of the book.....Ms. Cremer you have done it. Produced a werewolves tale that is as old as time but as modern as it can get. The top-notch editing as well as the atmosphere, the author has created in her book has left us (me mostly since since three books in this series have already been released) yearning for more. I am definitely going to jump into the next one. God I am rooting for Calla and Ren.....sorry Shay fans  I don't like him much.....oh this is so exciting!!!!

"With the howl of the pack and the trill of the chase and of secrets revealed, Calla Tor's story is one you don't want to miss"

  1. I have never been sure about this series. That is, I was never sure UNTIL I read the spin off series book 1 Rift. And I loved it. So now I need to read this series already. Because I think I would actually like it. A Lot!
