Across The Universe #3 Shades of Earth

This was a long time coming..... definitely worth it. Presenting Across the Universe #3 Shades of Earth by Beth Revis.

Here is the summary of the book:

Amy and Elder have finally left the oppressive walls of the spaceshipGodspeed behind. They're ready to start life afresh--to build a home--on Centauri-Earth, the planet that Amy has traveled 25 trillion miles across the universe to experience.

But this new Earth isn't the paradise Amy had been hoping for. There are giant pterodactyl-like birds, purple flowers with mind-numbing toxins, and mysterious, unexplained ruins that hold more secrets than their stone walls first let on. The biggest secret of all? Godspeed's former passengers aren't alone on this planet. And if they're going to stay, they'll have to fight.

Amy and Elder must race to discover who--or what--else is out there if they are to have any hope of saving their struggling colony and building a future together. They will have to look inward to the very core of what makes them human on this, their most harrowing journey yet. Because if the colony collapses? Then everything they have sacrificed--friends, family, life on Earth--will have been for nothing.

FUELED BY LIES.
RULED BY CHAOS.
ALMOST HOME.

Few things check out when I started to read this book..... Long time coming - check. As amazing as ever plot - check. Beth Revis working her magic - check. But the cover (while brilliant in its own way) just ruined me collection.... OK YES I have the whole thing in my ebook library but .... seriously though re-designing it when they release the finale of the series in just plane cruel..... They could have re-printed the whole series after this book came out...... Seriously I want my Amy and Elder on this cover too (would love the UK cover most).....

So, Centauri-Earth in infront of them. Amy and Elder are ready to finally be free from Godspeed and finally see the planet they were set to colonize.... albeit way later than they were meant to. All the cryo chambers are unfrozen... But a quiet planet with its Earth like atmosphere, scenic mountains and two vibrant suns is a fresh danger zone with disaster waiting to happen.... a big secret lies beneath the surface of this new planet and it is something nobody actually anticipated ever. FREX MY MIND IS ON LOCKDOWN.

Beth Revis strikes again..... FREX this is BRILLY.... Amy and Elder..... they were endearing and adorable. The world building or most appropriately updating and progressing is successfully done. This was the certain quality of this series that makes it stand out from the crowd..... She treats and goes with each book and they are well enough to be stanalone if not fir some development that connects with the preceding books.

Shades of Earth..... was definitely a game changer and it was like entering a whole new world..... In a way it bares a lot of similarity with a lot of new age futuristic sci-fi dystopia shows and tales...... but take a chill pill people, Shades.. has its own shades of brilly action and revelation that might shake the ground you are standing on.....

And I loved the way Amy and Elder band together to solve the mystery of this alien planet that is in more ways than one just like our home. There is a deep rooting intensity between them and it is enough to send us over the edge about the fate of these two at the end of the book only to leave a sigh of relief that everything may not be the same anymore but it is finally changing for the better one step at a time...... Authors can be so evil sometimes but it is why we love them so much..... FREX THIS IS SAD..... I'M GOING TO MISS THIS SERIES SO MUCH....

"Shades of Earth, adds its own shades to this FREXING BRILLY piece of literature from our very own Beth Revis"
