"Still on Mind" is a weekly event, hosted at Ya-Aholic, every thursday to feature a book that you read months or even YEARS ago that was so good (or so scary/unique/funny..etc) that it is 'Still on my (your) Mind!'
The Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales
by Jacob Ludwig Karl Grimm, Wilhelm Karl Grimm, Josef Scharl(Illustrator), Margaret Hunt (Translator), James Stern (Editor), Padraic Colum (Contributor), Joseph Campbell (Contributor)
For almost two centuries, the stories of magic and myth gathered by the Brothers Grimm have been part of the way children—and adults—learn about the vagaries of the real world. Cinderella, Rapunzel, Snow-White, Hänsel and Gretel, Little Red-Cap (a.k.a. Little Red Riding Hood), and Briar-Rose (a.k.a. Sleeping Beauty) are only a few of more than 200 enchanting characters included here. Lyrically translated and beautifully illustrated, the tales are presented just as Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm originally set them down: bold, primal, just frightening enough, and endlessly engaging.

Why this is still on my mind?
"This was the first book I ever read....you definitely don't forget your firsts. Fairy tales also shape our life...so what if they not really sunshine and roses and a little simplified version of the truth but Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel have all been favorites.....and definitely not to forget with the recent turn of the television, Hollywood and the literary strata to the fairytales.... i'm sure the new movies Snow White & The Hunstman and Mirror, Mirror - tv series - Once Upon A Time and Grimm - Cartoons - All the Disney extravaganza comes to mind..... We all want a magical solution to all our problems don't we....so i don't really think fairytales can ever be forgotten"
