This is a combined review of Vol 1. & Vol. 2 of Injustice: Gods Among Us.
Raked with guilt and the loss of loved ones, the usually sunny-disposition Superman has decided that enough is enough and that no crime should go unpunished anymore and decides to use his powers and those of his fellow Justice League members to police the world. Using extreme measures if necessary. Of course Batman is there to slap some sense into him.
Lines blur between the notions of right and wrong and as Superman and Batman are at odds with each other. The Justice league members have much to decide on.
And If you think Vol 1 was explosion then think again because Vol. 2 takes it to the next step. Lex Luthor, the only survivor of the Metropolis blast has now embraced Superman's new ideals and has his own ideas to better the world. Of course many important characters see their untimely end and of course Superman seems to have fully adopted to his dark side and enacted on his ultimatum.
Yes, the graphics and the illustrations aren't top-notch but the intent is clear. Going away from canon and spicing things up both Vol. 1 & 2 are a feast for the eyes and very much emotionally riveting. Eager for Vol. 3 now.
I am not a hard core gamer neither am I a comic book nerd. But I do enjoy a great story. So color me surprised when I find out that this is based on the game by the same name. I'll be checking it later but this is it for now.
But gotta admit this is one epic-ly dark story here with the full DC Superheros roaster in the mix. So Joker tricks Superman into killing his very much pregnant wife Lois Lane and resulting in razing Metropolis from the face of the Earth.

"A tantalizingly darker take on Justice League with a full DC Superheroes roaster"
